German newspaper Hamburger Abendblatt understands that Hamburg SV midfielder Rafael van der Vaart could be returning to Spanish La Liga.
The Dutch footballer spent two years with Real Madrid between 2008 and 2010, but he didn’t quite manage to prove his worth in Spain’s top flight.
He could now get a second opportunity with Sevilla and Valencia reportedly considering summer bids for the 32-year-old.
Rafa van der Vaart is unlikely to have his deal at Hamburg extended beyond next season, given that he is no longer considered an indispensable member of the squad.
And seeing as he will be available on a free transfer next summer, the likes of Sevilla and Valencia will attempt to lure him back to Spain.
His former club Ajax and few other top sides are believed to be keen, with van der Vaart determined to make the right choice as he wants to play himself back into the first team plans of Netherlands coach Guus Hiddink.
