Liverpool have been linked with a surprise move for Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic, according to the Express.
The Montenegro international has managed just five goals in sixteen appearances in all competitions so far this season, and has fallen further down the pecking order following the arrival of Wilfried Bony, who signed from Swansea City in January.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring in another striker in the summer with his current selection of forwards managing just six in the league between them this year.
Serie A giants Milan and Juventus are also keen on securing Jovetic’s services, but will be unable to compete with the wages that can be offered by the Premier League outfits.
The 25 year old was absent from City’s match day squad for Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at Liverpool, a result which leaves them five points behind league leaders Chelsea, who have a game in hand.
