Liverpool are lining up a summer move for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, according to the Metro.
Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is currently on the look-out for a replacement for outgoing captain Steven Gerrard, who will move to the MLS at the end of the season.
Gerrard has been at Anfield his entire career, but is ready to swap Merseyside for Los Angeles and team up with former teammate Robbie Keane at the Galaxy.
Both Manchester United and Arsenal have also been linked with a bid for former Stuttgart man Khedira, who has made just sixteen appearances in all competitions so far this season.
He moved to the Spanish capital in the summer of 2010, and has since won the league, the Spanish cup twice, the Champions League and the World Club Cup while internationally he was part of Germany’s victorious squad at last summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.
